Our Mission

Video Trust Mission Statement

Video Trust is a membership association that educates library professionals on best practices for visual media acquisition, usage, preservation and access, and advocates on their behalf with producers and distributors. We believe in the power of film and video to tell stories, enrich lives, and are united in our commitment for all to learn from this important part of our cultural record.

Who are we?

Video Trust is a 501c nonprofit membership organization that serves the library community. Our membership consists of media acquisition, curation, information technology and preservation professionals within libraries and educational organizations, the suppliers who license critical motion picture resources, and the patrons whose lives are impacted by the depth and caliber of media availability in their lifelong learning journeys.

Who do we serve/who is our audience?

Our core community consists of higher education, K-12, public librarians, and those involved in media acquisition for educational institutions. Secondarily, we support the content producers and distributors who serve this community and their constituents by communicating best practices, and raising awareness of the importance and scope of opportunity the global library system represents.
